Danny A. Spears

Rev. Danny A. Spears "Pa", 60, of Conway, stepped into glory to meet his Savior face to face on May 9, 2012. He was born April 2, 1952, in Conway, to Erma Lavonne (Hutto) Spears and the late Daniel Dean Spears. He graduated from Conway High School and attended Bethany Nazarene College, in Oklahoma City. Rev. Spears was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He not only pastored multiple churches on the Northern Arkansas District, but was also a licensed children's evangelist, traveling all over the country holding family revivals and children's crusades for the last 40 years. Rev. Spears loved his family and God's great outdoors, but lived passionately to ensure that everyone he met, young and old, knew about his Jesus and the gift of Salvation. We believe that he is now experiencing first hand the promise and reward that he so happily preached. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Rev. Spears is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth (Shaw) Spears; two sons, Pastors Jeremy Spears (Shawn) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Pastor Jason Spears (Lindsey) of Greenbrier; seven grandchildren, Taylor Mae age 12, Hunter age 9, Fisher age 7, Tanner age 6, Emma age 2, Tucker age 2 and Avery age 3 months; a sister, Vonna Dean Coker (Gail) of Conway; a brother, Sam Spears (Connie) of Conway; and a host of fellow ministers of the gospel and many close family and friends that he diligently ministered to. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. Rev. Spear's celebration service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012, at First Church of the Nazarene, in Conway. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send all charitable donations to the UAMS Cancer Research Center in memory of Rev. Dan Spears.
