Herman L. Wood, 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was called to his Heavenly home on May 9, 2012. He was born in Bismarck, Arkansas on October 11, 1921. He was a World War II Navy Seabees veteran. He was a welder and iron worker by trade and a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lucy Wood; three brothers, Earl, Hershel and Pete Wood; sister, Pauline Chapman and grandson, Ricky Bruck. He is survived by his adoring wife of 67 years, Velma Casey Wood of Little Rock; daughter, Sherry and husband, Mike Roberts of Benton; daughter, Pam Bruck of Benton; sister, Elsie Abbott; sister-in-law, Tommie Burchett; granddaughters, Amanda and husband, Jonathan Matson; Calli Roberts of North Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Carson and Mackenzie Matson of Bryant and a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to his caregivers at Heartland Rehab Center in Benton. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Pastor Boe Dickey officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
