Charles Austin Hassell, 63, of Little Rock, Arkansas, has departed this life. He was born August 23, 1948, in San Francisco, California to the late Charles Austin Hassell, Sr. and Emma B. Knox who survives him, of Little Rock. Charles was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a man of spiritual values, and enjoyed painting, sculpting and was a musician himself, playing guitar in styles of soft and folk rock. He received his Masters degree in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Parting this life much too early, he leaves to cherish his spirit in addition to his mother, his wife, Lisa Leonard Hassell; sons, Leif Austin, Dustin Bleu (Rachel) and Joseph Kirk (Katie) Hassell; a grandson, Levi Bleu Hassell; his sister, Deloras Charlene Manuel, and a brother, Norbert N. Knox; and a number of nephews and nieces. A ceremony celebrating Charles' life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
