RUBY HARDCASTLE HUDSON, longtime resident of Jacksonville died Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville and had been active for many years in various activities within the church family, a member of the Chancel Choir, a 50-year member and Past Worth Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member and past president of the Jacksonville AARP Chapter, secretary of the Bayou Meto Cemetery Association, and a charter member of the Jacksonville Historical Society. She was retired from the First Electric Coop. Corp. After 30 years of service and she was a dedicated member and leader of the community. She is survived by one son, Jerry Hudson of Wynne, Ark.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also has three surviving siblings, Opel Leaman, Emogene Miller, and Thomas Hardcastle. She was loved and will be missed by a host of friends and relatives. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Bayou Meto Cemetery.
