Lori Belle Blazek

Lori Belle (Shadle) Blazek, 44, of Hazen, Ark. was granted her angel wings on May 13, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Lori was born on August 28, 1967 in Stuttgart, Ark. to Elbert and Patricia (Parr) Shadle. It was determined at a young age that Lori was a natural caregiver. When she was a young child, she would bring home every lost and injured animal she could find and nurse them back to health. When she got older, she found joy working with the elderly in the nursing home. She would sit for hours and listen to their stories. Later in life, she graduated Correctional Officer Training and became the 3rd female officer to walk the floors at Tucker Maximum Security Facility. When Lori was no longer able to work due to health issues, she quickly became a friend and confidant to everyone she met. She was always there to give advice, lend a helping hand, or just listen. One of her greatest joys in life was rocking babies. She loved having children and babies around. She always said you couldn't hold a baby and not smile. Lori is survived by her mother, Patricia Jane (Parr) Shadle of Hazen, Ark.; one brother, Wylon Dee Shadle of Hazen, Ark.; one sister, Lyndi Hoitsma of Colorado; two children, Stephanie Lee Blazek and Caleb Dalton Swiney both of Hazen, Ark.; five nephews, Larry Ray Beachler of Little Rock, Ark., Kyle Hoitsma of Colorado, Cole Hoitsma of Grand Junction, Colorado, Corey Crawford of Denver, Colorado, and Nicholas Hoitsma of Colorado; one niece, Ashley Sloan of Longmont, Colo.; along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Lori is preceded in death by her father, Elbert Dee Shadle; paternal grandparents, Abner and Lillie (Garhart) Shadle; maternal grandparents, Willie and Geneva (Kirkemier) Parr; one uncle, Dale Morden and one nephew, Brian Hughes. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weems Family Funeral Services in Carlisle, Ark. A memorial service will held Thursday, May 17 at 5 p.m. at Pepper's Lake Church of Christ in DeValls Bluff, Ark. where she will be laid to rest in Pepper's Lake Church of Christ Cemetery. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who provided words of encouragement and prayers during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff at Baptist Health-Stuttgart for the care and support they provided. In 44 short years, Lori succeeded in touching the lives of many people. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends, where her memory will live on forever.
