Mary Fowler McBryde, 92, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012. Mary was born September 30, 1919 to John Clark and Minnie Duvall Fowler. She spent her early school years, along with her late brother Coy, in Hot Springs and also in Little Rock attending Mount Saint Mary Academy. She was married in Second Presbyterian Church, and remained active in the church throughout her life, baptizing her two children there and being a member of circles and Sunday school classes. "Miss Mary" as she was known, went to work at the law firm of Wright, Lindsey and Jennings in 1952 where she remained an employee for 52 years, being well known and respected by numerous attorneys and judges in Arkansas. She lived in the Governor's Mansion District of the Quapaw Quarter during those years, enjoying her neighborhood friends, her gardens, church activities and professional associations. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife, Judy, and Mark; also her grandchildren James, John, Chaney and Michael, and great-grandchild, Miller. Mary was a true southern lady, placing great worth in matters of manners, elegance and courage, instilling a sense of personal warmth and caring in those who knew and loved her. Her family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Andover Place and most especially to Mary's caregivers, Kathy Henley and Tanya Seymor. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 18th at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Dr. Karen Akin officiating.
