Winifred Charline Hendrix Oglesby, 88, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. She waw born December 28, 1923 in Tupelo, Mississippi, and was the daughter of the late Crum L. Hendrix and Jimmie Sparks Hendrix. She lived in Tupelo until she graduated from East Tupelo High School in 1942. Mrs. Oglesby was a retired child care provider. She became a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church in 1954 and served the church in many and various ways. She was a member of the Highlander Sunday School Class and Circle 1 of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Winston F. Oglesby, who died in 2002; her two sisters, Christine Castner of Greenville, Texas, and Linda Roye of Gallup, NM and one brother, Bill Hendrix of Greenville, Texas. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and R. G. (Rick) Jennings Jr. of Little Rock; her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel W. Oglesby and Callan Nagle of Alexandria, Va.; her granddaughter and husband, Karen and Tony Shepherd and her great-granddaughter, Zoe Rebecca Shepherd of Little Rock. She is also survived by one brother, Jay Hendrix of Pontotoc, Miss. and numerous nieces and nephews. A Gathering in remembrance of Mrs. Oglesby will be held Thursday morning, May 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark. Memorials may be made to Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15542 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211.
