Phyllis Wolters, 89, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at St. Vincent Infirmary. She was born February 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Richard D. and Lois (Griffin) Wylie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Louis Wolters and two sons, Louis Douglas Wolters and Martin Peter Wolters. Mrs. Wolters was a retired school teacher from the Pulaski County Special School District. She attended Arkansas State Teachers College and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for 50 years and designed the insignia worn by the members of the Arkansas chapter. Mrs. Wolters loved the Arkansas Repertory Theatre and Murry's Dinner Playhouse. She was passionate about art and her works were displayed at different times throughout the years. She was a lifetime member of the Southern Watercolorists. Mrs. Wolters donated one of her paintings each year to the Arkansas Repertory Theatre's annual fundraiser. She is survived by her sister, Sara Sue Harmon of Palos Verdas, California; grandsons Doug Wolters (Danna) of Greenbrier and Scott Wolters (Suzanne) of Hollywood, Florida; great-grandchildren, Danielle Wolters, Devin Danner (Lee), and Darci Wolters; and one great-great-grandson, JD (Jefferson Douglas) Danner. Services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Repertory Theatre at P.O. Box 110, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203. The family would like to thank Terri McClure, in grandma's own words, "God sent her to take care of me."
