Claude "Judge" Oscar Roberson Sr., age 93, of Little Rock, passed away at home on Monday, May 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maxine Brown Roberson. Judge was born December 26, 1918 in Dumas, Ark., to the late Ethel Louise Lawler Roberson and Edward Gifford Roberson. He valiantly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Judge was a lifelong member of the American Legion and Masons. He married his high school sweetheart, Maxine Brown Roberson, on April 1,1944. He is survived by their children: Claude Oscar Roberson, Jr., of Little Rock, Ark., and Cindy R. Morse, and husband Larry Morse, of Merced, California. Judge was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Jenny Roberson Ladd and husband Scott Ladd of Frisco, Texas; Millie Roberson of Bella Vista, Ark.; Sam Roberson of Little Rock; Dylan Morse, Ethan Morse and Ryan Morse, all from Merced, California. He will be dearly missed by his great-grandchildren: Matthew Roberson of Bella Vista, Ark.; Ty Smith, Georgia Smith and Hank Smith, all of Frisco, Texas. Judge was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His pleasant nature and positive outlook on life will be missed by everyone that knew him. A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, May 18th at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Cemetery outside of Winchester, Ark. Visitation will be prior to the graveside service at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas, Ark., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mabelvale United Methodist Church, 10500 Woodman St., Mabelvale, Ark., 72103.
