Denzil Gainer

Denzil Ivan Gainer (Denny), 62, passed from this world to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 29. He was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on March 22, 1950, attended El Dorado High School and graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and the University of Arkansas Medical Services College of Pharmacy. He spent his career as a pharmaceutical representative and as a pharmacist, retiring from The University of Arkansas Medical Center Pharmacy. His time of retirement was spent in service to his parents and to his church, First United Methodist Church of Little Rock and to various ministries in the area. One of his joys was singing in the choir of his church and serving as a pharmacist for free clinics in Little Rock. He is predeceased by his father, Elwood G. Gainer, and a brother, Gaylen. He is survived by his mother, Elise Gainer of El Dorado, Arkansas; his uncle and aunt, Milam and Jeanette Rhodes of Junction City, Arkansas and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Young's Funeral Directors in El Dorado, Arkansas. Rev. Mary Jane Cole, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church in Little Rock will preside, assisted by Rev. Tom Whitworth, pastor of The First Christian Church of El Dorado. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to the Missions and Outreach Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 or to the charity of your choosing.
