Jackie Ansel Shock went to meet his wife Glenda on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. He was born in Enola, Arkansas on February 28, 1926 to George Arthur Shock and Golda Anthony Shock. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Perry and Anthony Shock, and Glenda, his beloved wife of 67 years. Jackie was retired from the United States Postal Service and served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He is survived by a sister, Wanda McNinch of Enola. He is also survived by his five children: Camellia Jackson and husband David of Texarkana, Texas, Jackie Shock of Vilonia, Arkansas, Robert Shock and wife Kaye of Spring, Texas, Debbie Moreland and husband Keith of Conway, Arkansas, and Steve Shock and wife Sue of Vilonia, Arkansas, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jackie was a faithful member of the Robinson and Center Church of Christ for 43 years. He served as an elder of the church for 16 years at Robinson and Center and also for 4 years at the Westside Church of Christ in Texarkana, Texas. He loved studying the Bible and teaching bible classes. Mission work was his passion. He served God on missions to New Guinea, Canada, Australia, Guyana, and Belarus where he worked with churches of Christ and conducting personal bible studies. He also worked for the Lord in Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska. He taught and preached at churches in Bigelow, Mayflower, and Enola. He loved to hunt. His first love was quail hunting and he kept good bird dogs. He was a member of the Texarkana Deer Hunting Club for 38 years. He kept fox hounds to run fox and coyote and hear tall tales told around the campfire. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 18 at the Robinson and Center Church of Christ. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 19th at the Robinson and Center Church of Christ. Brother Billy Blakeney of Foreman, Arkansas and Steve Norris of Conway, Arkansas will officiate. Burial will be at Heffington Cemetery in Enola. His grandsons, Adam Shock, Caleb Shock, Brandon Moreland, Nathan Moreland, Aaron Shock, David Jackson, and Joshua Shock will serve as pallbearers. His loving granddaughters are Hannah Moreland Colvin, Sara Beth Shock Blair, Holli Jackson Long, Jaqueline Shock Anderson, Vicki Jackson Spelce, and Stephanie Shock Cobbe.
