Owen Sugg

Owen Lee Sugg, 79 of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away May 20th, 2012. He was born On September 2nd, 1932 to Troy and Elba Sugg in Cave City, Arkansas. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of Service, and also retired from the United States Postal Service after 21 years. He obtained a degree in history and psychology from Arkansas State University. He was a member of the Jacinto Masonic Lodge of Jacksonville for over 50 years; was a member of the Scottish Rite and past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Elba; Step-mother, Olga; sister, Della Marie; brothers, Jack, Donald, Marcus, Cecil, and James Sugg; and his great-grandson, Evan Jackson. Cherishing his memory are his wife of 59 years, Epsie Sugg, two daughters, Yvonne Pozarek (Mike), and Cynthia Waddill (Dale); six grandchildren, Tracie, Sean, and Corey Pozarek, Stacy, Ryan and Matthew Emfinger; great-granddaughter, Harper Pozarek; brothers, Glynn, and John Sugg; sisters, Ruth Martin, Winona Stapleton, Juanita Parker, Olga Chestnut, Lavonne Dotson, and Mary Strayer. The family wishes to express special appreciation to the nurses and staff of the unit 1D at the NLR VA (Towbin Medical Center) for their excellent care and support. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 24th, 2012 at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church in Sherwood, with Bro. Mike Bowien officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8: p.m. at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock, on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012.
