Ralph Eugene Durden, age 75, of Little Rock, died peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2012. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Durden and their three children; Patti Durden of Childersburg, Alabama, Rollin (Natalie) of Cabot, Arkansas and Dewayne (Shannon) of Little Rock. He is also survived by three loving grandsons, Reed Durden of Cabot, Rance Durden of Cabot, and Kevin Durden of Little Rock; brother, Clint Durden of Talladega, Alabama, and sisters, Corene Thomas of Jefferson, Georgia and Edna Hill of Amory, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Ralph. He was born May 26, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of D.C. and Alma Durden. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Maury Durden, and three sisters, Gladys Richards, Mable Creel and Martha Townsend. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Dr. John Ransom, Dr. Steve Hutchins and their very special nurse, Lola Fish. Also to the staff of Dr. Mariann Harrington who have been so compassionate with our family during dad's illness. To our extended family, Dr. John Ransom and his wife, Kathy, their children Matt, Kelly and Jen...we could not have made it through this very difficult time without all of you. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Dr. Del L. Medlin officiating.
