James Blake Williamson

James Blake Williamson, age 76, of El Dorado, Ark. departed this life on May 22, 2012. He was the son of James Byrd and Maggie Lee Blake Williamson. Jim was born on Feb. 4, 1936 in Aubrey, Ark. and graduated from Star City High school in 1954. Jim married Earlene Adams on April 6, 1958. He graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1961 from the University of Arkansas. He was a registered Professional Engineer and Surveyor. Jim served his community as an El Dorado City Alderman, an El Dorado Rotary Club member, a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 23 where he helped his sons obtain the rank of Eagle Scout and was honored by being voted into The Order of the Arrow, serving two years in the National Guard at Fort Polk, La., and as President of the Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and two brothers. Survivors are sons James Brian Williamson of El Dorado, Ark., Lewis Adams Williamson and wife Lisa Webb of Zion, Ill.; daughters, Joanna Dawn Smith and husband Byron of Sherman, Texas, Elizabeth Lee VanLandingham and husband Michael of Little Rock, Ark. a sister Emma Lack of Thayer, Mo., a brother Louis Williamson and wife Linda of Memphis, Tenn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. Graveside services with Bro. George Thomas officiating will be held at Noon on Tuesday, May 29 at Rocky Mound Cemetery near Fouke, Ark. under the direction of Young's Funeral Director's of El Dorado. The family will receive friends following the graveside services at Rocky Mound Baptist Church.
