Joy Reyne Dillard

Ms. Joy Reyne Dillard, 54 of Pine Bluff, Ark., formerly of Dermott, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. Prior to her illness; she was a Junior High School Science teacher at Jack Robey Jr. High School in Pine Bluff. Ms. Dillard was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Etta "Doll" Dillard, one brother, John W. Dillard, Jr., her paternal grandparents, Willie and Ada Dillard, her maternal grandparents, M.E. & Cornelius Davis. She was a 1976 graduate of Dermott High School and a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was a former Lady Razorback and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Joy taught in the following school districts: Parkdale, Eudora, Elkins & Pine Bluff. She worked with the youth at Full Counsel Church, and served as President of the Chicot County Burial Association with Dillard Funeral Home. She enjoyed teaching, reading, her church and family. She is survived by her father & step-mother, John W. and Betty Dillard of Dermott, Ark., two sisters: Johnetta Dillard-Walker, husband Reginald of Atlanta, Ga. and Marian Johneice Dillard-Black, husband Jarrod of Dermott, Ark., one step-brother, Marvin Jones of Dermott, Ark., and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends, including Love Esters of Dermott, Ark. and Donald Hunter of Jacksonville, Ark. Funeral services are Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 12 noon at Full Counsel Church, 513 S. Cherry, Pine Bluff, Ark. with Pastor Vincent Johnson, officiating. Active pallbearers are Dexter Davis, Jarrod Black, Reginald Walker, Curtis Hilliard, Larry Robinson, Larry Stewart, Marvin Jones and Fernando Spraglin. Remains will be entombed at Davis Cemetery in Dermott, Ark., under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Ark. www.cromwellfuneralhome.net. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, West Iowa Street, Dermott, Ark.
