Christine Roebuck Bass, of Conway, formerly of Little Rock, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1925 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Matilda and Willis Craft Roebuck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Edward Bass. Sisters Edna Roebuck McKinzie and Frances Roebuck Frazier of Pine Bluff and brother, Reverend W.C. Roebuck of Monroe, Louisiana, also preceded her in death. Chris resided in Conway, Arkansas the past five years at College Square. She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School; an Honor graduate of Texas State College for Women, Denton, Texas (now Texas Women's University). Christine retired from the Little Rock School District in 1988. She had served as President of LR Educational Secretaries and was life member of PTA and served as president. She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. She is survived by three children, Judge J. Martin Bass and wife Sarah of Fredericksburg, Virginia; R. Andrew Bass and wife Becky of Conway, Arkansas; and Ellen Bass Turner and husband Scott of Williamsburg, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas Bass, Drew, Katie, and Anna Bass, and McKinzie Christine and Sam Turner; and two great granddaughters, Margaret and Virginia Bass of Roanoke, Virginia. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Conway. Memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
