Tulip Maynard, age 72, of Little Rock died Wednesday April 10, at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock. She was born February 24, 1941 to Alex and Berlene Howard Gatlin. Tulip spent most of her life in Brookland then moved to Little Rock. She was a respiratory therapist for the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock and was of the Baptist belief. Tulip left many legacies of accomplishments in her life. She loved being with her family and loved to stay busy by painting, that she learned to do at the age of 62 while battling cancer, gardening, quilting, cooking, traveling, dancing. She is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Jerry Don Yates. Survivors include 2 daughters, Deanna Ziomek of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Tracy Hanshaw of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Jeanette Gatlin-Tennant of Brookland and six grandchildren, Dana Ziomek, Riley Blair, Hannah Blair, Walker Blair, Braden Hanshaw and Tiffany Fugate. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2-4 with eulogy starting at 3 p.m. at the Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.
