Mary Nell (Gammill) Hammett of Conway went to be with the Lord, Sunday April 14, 2013. She was born Jan. 24, 1933 in Branch, Ark. to the late Clyde and Carrie Gammill. Mary was a longtime member of The University Church of Christ and Church Women United. She graduated from UCA, formerly ASTC. Mary retired from Conway Public Schools as a home economics teacher and also taught at Bee Branch Southside and Siloam Springs. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and cleaning, but most of all Mary loved raising her two girls and grandchildren and being a wonderful wife. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill Hammett; grandson, Billy Shane Lasley; two nephews, Tim Hammett and Kevin McCarty. Mary is survived by two daughters, Ceresia Hammett-Moix and Maresia Lasley (Jeff) of Conway; and six grandchildren, Stephen (Meredith), Issac and Mary Elizabeth Moix and Jeffrey, Sissy and Jacob (Brook) Lasley; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Moix and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Mary's funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, with Jim Bob Baker officiating. Entombment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Lasley, Issac Moix, Jacob Lasley, Stephen Moix, Randall Dixon, and Ross Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Gammill, David Duke, James Duke, Scott McCarty, Chris Campbell, and James Andrew Mincy. The family requests memorial contributions be made to: Arkansas Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or CARTI-Conway.
