Robert (Bob) Cook Clark, 64, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 after fighting a courageous year long battle with lung and brain cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in El Dorado, Ark. on June 29, 1948 to the late Dr. James Frank Clark, Sr., and the late Margaret Gibbs Clark. Bob grew up in El Dorado, Ark. and after high school attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Ark. and later transferred to Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was hard working and had a successful career in the poultry industry. He was extremely knowledgeable in the field and performed his work with the highest standards and integrity. He began his 42 year career working for Cargill, Inc. and later worked for Townsend Foods, Jamesway Incubator Co., Braswell Food, Pete & Jerry's Organic Eggs, and most recently with Sanderson Farms as the hatchery superintendent in Kinston, North Carolina. Bob enjoyed being the life of the party and took pride in his garden and yard. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Tarheels. Beloved husband of 42 years to Rosemary Musil Clark who he met at Kansas State University; loving father of Samantha Clark Aktug and husband Kurt of Kernersville, N.C., and Robert Cary Clark and his wife Elizabeth of Durham, N.C.; grandfather of Cole and Tyler Aktug and Aidan and Avari Clark. He is also survived by his brothers, Dr. James Frank Clark, Jr., his wife Ann Porter both of Pine Bluff, Ark. and David Gibbs Clark and wife Nancy of Little Rock, Ark. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 315 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. at the church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Tim Meares officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice or The Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Catholic School.
