Bill G. Grove of Sheridan, Arkansas was born August 6, 1931 in Bremen, Indiana, the son of the late Theodore Hilbert and Myrtle Alene Reuter Grove. He graduated from Buchanan High School in Michigan in 1949, and Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1954 and was ordained to the ministry by Bethany Christian Church in Montgomery, Indiana in 1955. He served churches in Indiana, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. He helped establish Bradley Christian Camp and Lake Wister Christian Camp. He also made two missionary trips to India and served as a volunteer chaplain for the Department of Corrections. He was active in scout work and summer baseball programs, Lions Club, Optimist Club and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Grove died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 81. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Grove and Arthur Grove. Survivors: wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann Bryant Grove; sons, Paul Alan Grove and wife Lisa; Philip Anthony Grove and wife Jami all of Sheridan; four grandchildren, Paul A. Grove, Jr. and wife Bridget; Jeffrey A. Grove; Peyton A. Grove and Drew G. Grove; one great-grandchild, Braden A. Grove. Sister, Carol Miller and husband Phil of Valparaiso, Indiana; sister-in-law, Martha Grove of Bremen, Indiana; and numerous other relatives in Indiana and Ohio. A celebration service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Walton and Ken Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Chapel Cemetery with Tom Bowlby conducting the committal service. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
