Joann W. Thompson was born on December 11, 1932 in Searcy, Arkansas to Dalton and Ernestine Woodson and passed away on April 11, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Thompson was a resident of Clarksville, Arkansas and she was of the Methodist Faith. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State and a Master's in Education from the Arizona Sate. She also attended the University of Colorado. She was the County Extension Agent for Ashley, Columbia and Johnson Counties from 1969 until her retirement in 1998. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Teena Evans, one brother, Joe Woodson, two aunts, Clara Woodson and Vida Woodson. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jo Velliquette and husband, Donald of Weatherford, Texas, one granddaughter, two nieces, Kim Woodson and Christie Bell and husband Eugene, two great-nephews, Dustin Frazier and Garrett Bell, one great-niece, Rachael Hacker, a sister-in-law, Shirley Woodson, her significant other, Jim Hickman, other relatives and friends. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, 600 East Moore Street, Searcy, Arkansas. For online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
