Jo Claire English, 82, longtime resident of Clarendon died April 18th in Little Rock. Well known and respected for her extensive research and compilation of the history of Clarendon, she authored and published two books containing the statistics. As a 61 year member of the Presbyterian Church, Jo Claire served in all offices of the women's organization and was active in the complete work of the ministry. She was a charter member of the Clarendon Garden Club and the Tri-County Genealogy Society. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob English of Clarendon, sons, Robert (Lorraine) English of Madison, Ala., Jere (Beverly) English of Little Rock, brother, Grover (Carolyn) Knoll of Clarendon, sister, Nelma Pelton of Stuttgart, and six grandchildren, Rob (Allison) and Bailey of Madison, AL and Cory, Mason, Molly, and Carson of Little Rock. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday both at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarendon. Memorials may be given to Shady Grove Cemetery P.O.
