Bernice Pauline Combs, age 90, of Springdale, Ark. passed away peacefully on April 20, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born on Dec. 23, 1922 in Springfield, Ark., to Elmer Alexander Gordon and Ollie Meeler Gordon.
Pauline married George Stephens Combs Jr. in Conway County, Ark., on Sept. 19, 1942. She resided in Springdale for the past six years and was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She previously lived in the Little Rock area and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed her church, family, friends, and serving others.
Pauline will be remembered by her daughter, Linda Ennis and husband James of Springdale. She is also survived by her brother, Carl Gordon and wife Frances of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Alicia Taylor and husband Lance of Fayetteville, Jared Ennis and wife Angie of Fayetteville and Aaron Ennis and wife Carrie of Springdale, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Monday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Springdale, Ark. Visitation will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark., Wednesday, April 24 at 9 a.m., with the service following at 10 a.m., burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark., under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 501-661-9111.
