Harold Dean Turner was born March 7, 1935 in Hartville, Missouri. He was born one of seven sons to Arch and Jewell Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Darrel Turner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Louise Mallernee Turner, sons; Micheal Turner and wife, Jamie; Bob Turner and wife, Sheryl; Daughters, Lisa Mullins and husband, Klaus; and Sandy Turner. Grandchildren: John Turner, Trema Daffron, Rob Turner, Chase Turner, Brianna Ramseur, Leanna Mullins, Tyler Mullins, David Ramirez, Amanda Ramirez and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Few men ever reach the pinnacle of spiritual success as Harold Turner. Everything he stood for, lived for, and awaited with great anticipation is now the reality he enjoys. We would like to take a moment to give a short tribute to him. We were all blessed to have such a godly man as the major influence in our lives growing up. We cannot remember a time when we did not see him with his Bible close at hand. If there was ever a man who lived in and by God's Word, it was him. He loved to read and study God's Word. For him, it was the daily feast he enjoyed. For the past 30+ years he read the New Testament through once every month and the Old Testament through twice each year. He not only memorized the Bible, he knew it and lived it. It flowed in and through his preaching. He was a preacher/teacher of the gospel for more than 50 years, the best one-on-one personal worker we have ever known, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. We are thankful for the great victory he has achieved and look forward to being with him again one day. He left this world with the riches of family, friends, and loved ones too many to count. His life truly exemplified the last verse he read before his death and the sermon he was preparing to preach: "holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain." Phil. 2:16. Funeral service will be held at 10 am. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Dover Church of Christ. Ted Knight and William Roderick will officiate. Burial will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery at Gravel Hill by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. We do not know how many people will be in heaven because of the incredible personal work he has done, but it will be many. He touched the lives of everyone he met. We only hope to pass along the same legacy to our children. Thank you for sharing in this day with us and for your prayers. Pallbearers will be John Turner, Robert Turner, Chase Turner, David Ramirez, Tyler Mullins, and Clayton Roper. Memorials may be made to Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver, 2707 South Lamar Street, Denver, Colo. 80227. Internet obituary and on-line guest book are available at www.humphreyfuneral.com.
