Mary Tucker Phillips, 92, departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 1. She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Gurdon, Ark. to Robert and Irene Tucker. She grew up in Gurdon, and in 1943 married Harold Phillips. They raised their children in North Little Rock. After moving to Benton, she belonged to First United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Sisters Sunday School Class and the senior group Don't Mention Age, and member of the Benton chapter of the DAR. She loved gardening, oil painting, "antiquing", her grandchildren, her many beloved pets, and drinking coffee with her friends. Everyone who knew Mary loved her. She is survived by her children, Mary Nell and Greg Thomas, Benton, and Charlotte Hough of Woodbine, Ga.; grandchildren, Chris Thomas (Megan), Sara Deeter (TJ) of Little Rock, Darren Hough (Kristin) of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin Hough (Rachel) of Alpharetta, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Bekah Thomas and Erik Hough. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Phillips Sr; son, Harold Phillips Jr; and son-in-law, William Hough; and brother, Robert Tucker. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday before services. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pine crest Cemetery.
