BOBBY DOYLE MARTIN passed away in his home in Little Rock, Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. He was born in 1928 in Martinville, Ark. Growing up he lived in Martinville, Greenbrier, Plumerville, Conway, Oklahoma City and Arizona. He graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1946 and served in the Army in the late 1940s. In 1953 he married his wife of 58 years, the former Charlene Woolverton. In 1955 he moved his family to Little Rock, where he was a longtime employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for 55 years and a longtime resident of the Meadowcliff community in southwest Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Martin; parents, Harold Martin and Gladys Sams Fuchs; grandson, Jeffrey W. Martin and niece, Gail Wise Young. He is survived by sisters Ann Wise of Midwest City, Okla., and Ruth Martin of Taiwan; two brothers, Sonny and Wayne Martin of La Puenta, Calif.; a daughter, Susan Miller of Little Rock; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Diane Martin of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two grandsons, Mark Miller of St. Louis, Mo., and David Martin of Lawrenceville, Ga., and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Riley Martin, of Lawrenceville Ga.; cousins, Becky McCollum of Greenbrier, Ark., Grady and Laverne Martin of Martinville, Ark., and Elizabeth Ann Bearden of Glendale, Ariz.; nephew, Jack Wise Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and niece, Sandra Wise Nowinski of Houston Texas. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Aug. 6, 2013 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501) 224-8300. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. the same day at the Martinville Community Cemetery, in Martinville, Ark. The family will receive friends 10-11 prior to service at the funeral home.
