Dimple Mae Hatchett

Dimple Mae Hatchett, age 103, of Leslie, Ark. entered eternal life on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at Ozark Health in Clinton, Ark. She was born on April 23, 1910 to Cora Lucinda (Chadwick) George and Asburn Duke George. Mrs. Hatchett was the widow of the late Dewey Walker Hatchett. She was a life long resident of Searcy County and a life long Democrat. She was a member of the Leslie Methodist Church and was active there as long as her health allowed. Mrs. Hatchett worked for several years at the Leslie Hospital where she became recognized as one of their most compassionate employees. She was a strong woman and her family often turned to her for guidance. Mrs. Hatchett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; two sisters; great grandson, Dane W. Thompson; and her much loved daughter-in-law Frankie Treat Hatchett. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Davenport and husband Dennis and son D.W. Hatchett. Her devoted grandchildren include Julie Williams, Donald Walker Williams and wife Holly, Kimberly Berry and husband Eric and Lora Thompson and husband Barry. Mama Dink's adored great grandchildren included Adam, Austin and Kalie Durr, Dylan Walker Williams, Olivia and Elise Berry and Abby and Aubrey Thompson. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews who were in constant touch with her. Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Ark. Graveside services for Dimple Hatchett will 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall, Ark. with her nephew, Jerry George officiating. A reception will be held at Leslie Methodist Church following the graveside service. At the families request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leslie Methodist Church, 870-447-2703.
