Kelly Suzanne Barnes McElyea died at the age of 51 on August 3, 2013, of cervical cancer at her home in Clyde, Texas. A celebration of her life will be 3 p.m. on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at Sweet Fellowship Church of God In Christ, 2106 Shellhorse Road, Dallas, Texas 75241. Kelly was born February 11, 1962 in Big Spring, Texas. She attended school in El Paso, Texas and moved to Duncanville, Texas in 1977. She lived in Arkansas with her sons from her first marriage, and her youngest son was born in Arkansas. After making her way back to Duncanville, she moved to Clyde, Texas in 2012. Over her career she has worked as a bank teller at Red Bird Bank in Dallas, a bank teller and court clerk in Arkansas and finally as an operator/dispatcher for a doctor's telephone exchange before her illness forced her to retire. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She gave her heart to everyone and was beloved by all. She was known for helping anyone she saw or knew needed it and never asked for credit or anything in return. Her favorite flower was a hand-picked wild flower from anyone who would give her one. Kelly is survived by three sons: Jimmy and Daniel McElyea, both of Dothan, Ala. and Branden Miles of Shelbyville, Tenn.; Her mother, Karen Greenhill of Clyde, Texas; Her two sisters Teresa Winters of Duncanville, Texas and Bobbie Harder and husband Roger of Kaufman, Texas; several nieces and nephews and two aunts, Kathy Perez and Karla Chavarria; and her Uncle James Greenhill all of Big Spring, Texas.
