Wilma Lorene Owens

Wilma Lorene "Nanny" Owens, 86, of North Little Rock went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. She was born December 31, 1926 in Bee Branch, Ark. to Johnny and Clara Chance. She was a homemaker, child care giver, and an active member of First General Baptist Church of NLR where she served as a Sunday School teacher and president of the Women's Missionary Society for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years Cleatus A. Owens, and brother Hurley Ray "Bud" Chance, daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Owens. Lorene is survived by her sons, Ronald L. Owens of Snellville, Ga., Sherman L. Owens (Juanita) of Mt. Vernon, daughter, Nina Kathy Owens of North Little Rock, grandchildren, Ashley Alderman. Brain Owens (Laura), William Owens, Sonja Nelson (Bob), Brad Owens, five great-grandchildren, Charlie and Bennett Owens, Rob, Chance and Nash Nelson, two sisters, Mrytle E. Tindall of North Little Rock, Pernie L Barnett (Bob) of Jacksonville, Hervie "Wayne" Chance (Linda) of North Little Rock, sister-in-law, Margie L. Chance and a host of other family and friends.
