Mary Crossman

Mary Jean Ferrell Crossman, 80, born November 21, 1932 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, died July 18, 2013, after a quick decline from health problems. She grew up in North Little Rock and moved to Houston, Texas in the late 1950's. Mary Jean was a graduate of North Little Rock High School (now Ole Main) in 1950. She was very active in the top-notch journalism program the school offered. She attended Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) and later worked for Lewis-Norwood Insurance Agency. After moving to Houston in the late 1950's she married Lester E. Crossman in 1961. Beloved mother and grandmother, hard-working and caring friend to many through the years. Preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Ferrell of North Little Rock and Albert Ferrell of Dallas. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie Louise Crossman and Stephen L. Loughhead; Kara Jean and Gary Brown of Houston. Grandsons: Hunter Loughhead, Conner Loughhead, Garrett Loughhead, Collin Finlay and Ryan Finlay; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Irv Daniel and many nieces and nephews of North Little Rock. Service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Houston, at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 16th. Graveside service will be at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills cemetery on November 30th at 11 a.m.
