Dorothy Faye Pryor Johnson was "promoted to heaven" on August 13, 2013, when her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called her home to live with Him for eternity. Dorothy was born August 8, 1924 to Houston and Estelle Ellis Pryor in Kensett, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her loving husband of 66 years, Richard Lee Johnson, her son Richard "Mike" Johnson and her brother Bob Pryor. Surviving children include: Rebecca Cheek of The Colony, Texas, Joy Lynne Johnson Floyd and husband John Paul Floyd of Carrollton, Texas, Doug Johnson and wife Margy Johnson of Allen, Texas, Joe Johnson and wife Sarah Johnson of North Richland Hills, Texas, Susan Morrow Johnson of Heber Springs, Arkansas as well as grandchildren Wyatt Cheek and wife Lanette, Kira Leigh Cheek, Stacey Johnson, Kinzey Cheek, Alex Johnson, Jennifer Culp, Sheridan Culp, and Hunter Bradshaw and great-grandchildren Zach and Kazey Cheek. Additional survivors include her brother, Bill Pryor and wife Patsy of Searcy, Arkansas, sister-in-law, Christine Pryor of Kensett, Arkansas, nieces, Amy Pryor Roussel and husband Bill of Searcy, Sharon Pryor Farris and husband Dean, Lee Ann Pryor Hopper and husband Terry of Kensett, Arkansas, nephews, Bobby Pryor and wife Johnnie, Bruce Pryor and wife Dana of Edmund, Oklahoma, Matthew Pryor and wife Amy of Wooster, Arkansas and Mark Pryor and wife Robbie of Searcy, Arkansas as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous relatives on Richard Johnson's side of the family. Dorothy and her husband Richard spent more than 66 years in the ministry serving churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico and California. The years they spent in the areas of Hot Springs and El Dorado, Arkansas encompassed more than 36 years of their life and service together. Since relocating to Texas two years ago, Dorothy was an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, North Campus in Prosper, Texas, where she was involved in the WOW (Women of Worth) Bible Fellowship Class as well as the North Campus Adult Choir. She grew up as a child of the Great Depression, yet never asked for anything other than a chance to work hard and create an opportunity for her family and her children. She successfully raised "five only children" – balancing her marriage and family with working outside the home. She spent many years in the business world - with a concentration in banking, accounting and administration. In addition to family, friends and church - she was a voracious learner and reader. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining – and was known to love a party (especially if it was a pot luck!) Life was a simple recipe for her. Start with unwavering FAITH IN GOD and his son Jesus Christ ... add in unlimited amounts of UNCONDITIONAL love for family .... mix in lots of LASTING RELATIONSHIPS with friends ... and finally include TREATING OTHERS WITH THE DIGNITY GOD GAVE THEM - no matter their position, financial status, attitude or appearance. Dorothy was a selfless person of great love and compassion who touched the lives of everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed.
