BILLY PEEL, 84, peacefully passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013. He was born on Oct. 18, 1928 in Little Rock, Ark. Billy spent his entire life in Little Rock with his wife of 60 years, Helen. He retired after 30 years with AP&L. Following retirement, Billy started Peel Construction alongside his son, Barry, and grandson, Zack. Billy loved the Razorbacks, horse races, Bill Clinton, politics, movies, music, writing poetry, duck hunting, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. For 43 years, Billy coached American Legion Baseball for Wilkerson Diesel and Thompson Electric. He spent hours on the field and in the dugouts across central Arkansas coaching young men. He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Sheri (Jerry) Clark, Joni (Mike) Romine, Lori Howell, Teri (Chuck) Davis; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, who loved their "Papa" dearly. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; John and Versa Peel, sister, Glendean Peel and son, Barry Peel. Memorial services will be held 6 p.m., Thursday evening, Aug. 22, 2013 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Ark.
