Estle D. Chalk, 100, Kokomo, passed away at 11:05 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Waterford Place. She was born in Higdon, Arkansas on September 11, 1912 to the late George and Lillie (Rodgers) Bradford. In 1928 she married Cecil M. Chalk. Cecil passed away in 1966. Estle worked as a nurse's aide at Howard Community Hospital for many years. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her most important things in life were her faith in God and her family. She was a member of Bon Air Church of the Nazarene, Kokomo. Surviving are her; children; Carlene Wallen, Kokomo, Harold Melvin Chalk, Kokomo, Charles J. Chalk, Atlanta, Georgia, Roger D. Chalk, Ada, Michigan, Lorene M. Tester Leslie, Ark., sister: Helen Irene Nelson, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Estle was preceded in death by: her husband Cecil, her parents, children; Dolton F. Chalk, Dorthy J. Cotton, Howard R. Chalk, Phyllis I. Chalk, sisters; Etherl Cullen, Sybil Kirkindall, brothers; Marvin Bradford, James Bradford, Chester Bradford, Roy Bradford, Ray Bradford, and Edward Bradford. Funeral service will be held at Bon Air Church of the Nazarene, 2419 North Locke Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901 on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 12 noon with Pastor Dennis Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. - 12 noon Monday at the church.
