Xai Lee Thao

Xai Lee Thao, 94, of Hensley, passed away on August 7, 2013. He was born to the late Txhawj Liag Thao and Ci Lauj on February 5th, 1919 in Xamneua, Houaphanh province, Laos. Xai was married to Xai Moua in 1960. Xai was an honored member of the Lao Hmong Air Commandos from 1945-1975. He was a lieutenant in the Special Guerrilla Warfare Unit in battalion 222. He was on the front line operation, was wounded in action, and was a prisoner of war. Xai was given the Air Commando Association of Faithful and Brave Service Award. He also received the Lao Veteran of America Award for Appreciation of his honor service for the USA in the Vietnam War. Xai came to the United States in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Xai Moua, and his son, Yongva. He also is survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas. Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 26, 9 a.m. at St. Thereasa's Catholic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas with burial following at Memorial Gardens in Sheridan, Arkansas.
