R. GERALD BERRY passed away peacefully on Aug. 22. He was born in Tampa, Fla. on Feb. 21, 1925. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betsy. Also surviving are three sons, R. Gerald Berry Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Germantown, Tenn., Darrell Berry, and Randal Berry and his wife, Bonnie, of Little Rock. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Lillian Radney of Webster, Fla. and Juanita Jones of Wildwood, Fla. He served in the U.S.C.G. from 1942 to 1946. He spent over 42 years in the paper business. He was manager of Palmer Paper Co. in Tampa and later manager of a sister company, Western Paper Co. in Little Rock. He was a long time member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. He was on the Board of Ethics at UAMS for 12 years and a Tour Guide at Heifer International Headquarters for 10 years. He also tutored at Pulaski Heights Elementary for several years. A memorial service will be held at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church on Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. conducted by Dr. Randy Hyde.
