Richard W. Waymire, 86, of DeKalb, Ill., formerly of North Little Rock, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb. He was born July 25, 1927 in Lonoke, Ark., the son of Roy W. and Althea (Bryant) Waymire. He married Martha A. Morrison on July 16, 1955. Richard was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army with the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment and the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sycamore and a long time member of the Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. He was the owner and operator of Waymire's Motors in North Little Rock for 17 years and later worked for Jones Toyota-Volvo, retiring after 15 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Martha of DeKalb; four sons, Curtis (Arlene) of Branson, Mo., Scott (Paula) of Bentonville, Ark., Keith (Sandi) of North Little Rock, Ark. and Dennis (Tammy) of Sycamore; nine grandchildren, Sean, Patric, Rachel, Sarah, Laura, Kane, Samuel, David and Jonathan; one sister, Barbara (Tom) Harris of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eight half brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Allen; and one sister, Winnie Talley. A burial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock. A Celebration and luncheon will follow at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Sherwood, Ark.
