James Morton Kerr

James "Jimmy" Morton Kerr left this earth surrounded comfortably by the love and support of his family Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. James was born Dec. 22, 1934, in Hazen to Chester and Lucille Kerr. He graduated from Hazen High School in 1952. He worked at Stuttgart Municipal Waterworks for 32 years. James was department manager for 20 years and a lifetime member of the American Waterworks Association. James was also chairman of the Arkansas Wastewater Managers Association in 1982. He was also an avid Razorback fan, but will be mostly remembered as an avid family man. James is survived by his wife, Betty (Ingle) Kerr who he married on May 22, 1954. He gave his signature smile just recently when talking about the upcoming 60-year milestone anniversary with his wife. Survivors also include their children, Rick Kerr, Kathy (Dean) Hahn and Angie (Tommy) Lawson; grandchildren, Myra (Mark) Duke, Will Hahn and Meagan Kerr, Aaron Kerr and Josh Freeman, Leigh (Kris) Kreimeier, Mitchell (Karmen) Lawson and Leighton Lawson; great-grandchildren, Haley and Hayden Duke; brothers, Wayne (Patsy) Kerr, Dale (Phyllis) Kerr, Ronnie (Ann) Kerr and Mike (Donna) Kerr; and sister, JoAnn (Marvin) Kreimeier. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church, 2997 Center Point Road, Hazen, Arkansas 72064, with burial following in Center Point Cemetery.
