Gladys Ethel (Reed) Jackson Hillery, age 88, of Rogers, Arkansas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Springdale, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born in Pyron, Texas to James A. and Ethel (Gilmore) Reed on November 15, 1924. She was athletic all her life and enjoyed basketball, softball, bowling, hunting and fishing. During her teenage years her family moved to Delight, Arkansas where she met the love of her life Millard Thomas (M.T.) Jackson. They were married on December 21, 1942 in Albany, Oregon. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gladys was a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) #3098 in Houston, Texas. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She lived a full and beautiful life sharing joy with everyone she met. Her most cherished past time was time spent with family. Gladys is preceded in death by her first husband, M.T. Jackson, second husband, Mack Hillery, and siblings, S. Addean Winfrey, Luther M. Reed, James E. Reed, and S. Harlan Reed. Gladys is survived by two sons and a daughter, M. Stephen Jackson and his wife Pat, Keith L. Jackson and his wife Shelley, D. Renee (Jackson) Carr and her husband Steve; nine grandchildren, (Angela Warren, Jennifer Bartee, Kelly Sams, Stefanie Johnston, Kristy Price, Lacey Hinds, Sarah Huhn, Brandon Baldwin and Jill Brown), 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a faithful canine companion Wrigley Carr. Visitation will be on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Bro. James Goff officiating. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31 at Pike City Cemetery in Pike City, Arkansas with Bro. Jerry Hill officiating. A reception will be held at the First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, Arkansas following the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Mike Reed, Stanley Reed, Tony Price, Mike Huhn, Brandon Baldwin and Robert Evinger.
