Winnie Bradford Harrell, 91, of Hampton died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. She was born September 10, 1921 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. She was a retired secretary for International Paper Company and a member of Hampton United Methodist Church, where she volunteered as a secretary for over twenty years. During World War II she worked in the war department in Washington, DC. Winnie was very active in her community serving wherever she could. She was a charter member of the Hampton Garden Club, served on the Calhoun County Fair Board for many years, and volunteered with the local jail ministry. She bowled for several years with the Camden Bowling league, often attending state tournaments. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, South America and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed playing pinochle and pitch. While living at Parkway Heights she enjoyed bingo, dominos, bible trivia, and her pedicures. Winnie was also an avid supporter of the River City Men's Chorus. The family would like to give a special thank you to her Little Rock family, Parkway Heights and to Arkansas Hospice for their great care and compassion. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Elijah Bradford and Sarah Ellon Allison Bradford; husband, Len Harrell; one brother, Ordis Bradford; one sister, Dorothy Ward. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Belinda Harrell of Little Rock, Carl and Linda Harrell of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Mike Harrell, Ryan Harrell and wife Sarah, of Little Rock; great-grandson, Aidan Harrell of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Hampton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hampton United Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Hamner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Ground Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
