Dorothy Janet Hays Nier

Dorothy Janet Hays Nier went to be with her Lord on August 30, 2013, at her home in Searcy, Arkansas. Dorothy was born April 16, 1927, at Gravel Hill, White County, Arkansas, to parents Edward M. and Flossie Stracener Hays, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Coolidge Robert Nier, on March 6, 2013. Siblings preceding her in death were her sisters, Lillian Moss, Geneva Jordan, Cleo Lawson; and brothers, Julian, Redus, Eugene and Dayton Hays. Dorothy is survived by her only child, Wendell Robert Nier and his wife Gail, of Bald Knob, Arkansas; grandchildren Jason Robert Nier and wife Sheila, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Jennifer Robin Nier Ellis and husband John; great-grandchildren, Grant, Lauren, and Addie Ellis of Conway, Arkansas; brother Donnie Hays (Betty) of Judsonia, Arkansas; sisters, Lois Morris (Edward) of Judsonia, Shirley King (Jimmy), and Reta Lewis (Jimmy) of Searcy. Funeral services and visitation will be at Park Avenue Baptist Church (where she was a faithful member for many years), on Sunday, September 1, 2013, starting at 1 p.m. for visitation and 2 p.m. for the funeral service, with entombment to follow at White County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Searcy, Arkansas.
