Dr. Huel Thurman Heath Jr.

Dr. Huel (Tooter) Thurman Heath Jr., 68, of Conway died on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was born May 28, 1945, in Wynne, Ark. to the late Huel Thurman Heath Sr. and Charline Roachell Heath. Huel was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a 1963 graduate of Wynne High School. After high school he went on to further his education at Arkansas State University, and the Southern School of Optometry. He practiced optometry for over 40 years in the central Arkansas area. He loved spending his time in the outdoors and telling stories. He is survived by his wife Mona Claire (Swindle) Heath of Conway, his three sons, Huel (Trey) Thurman Heath III of St. Louis, Mo., Cleveland Matthew Heath (Krysta) of St. Louis, Mo., and Wilburn Hendrix Heath of Conway. three daughters Heather Lane Hall (Jeff) of Springdale, Ark., Hollee Heath Davis (Lance) of Vilonia, Erin Elizabeth Parker of Conway, nine grandchildren who knew him as Granny Huel, Abby Heath, Allie Heath, Jacob Hall, Sam Hall, Libby Hall, Hayden Davis, Drew Davis, Isabella Stanley, Sophie Parker-Dean, two brothers, Dr. Von Duke Heath of Wynne, Ark. and Dr. Rocky Lane Heath of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bonnie Hunter Heath, and his daughter, Clara Melissa Brooke Heath. Pallbearers: Huel (Trey) Thurman Heath III, Matthew Heath, Wilburn Heath, Lance Davis, Jeff Hall, Jacob Hall, Sam Hall, Jonathan Byrd, Jessie Byrd. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Duke Heath, Dr. James Stuckey, John Heath, Jerry Dallas, Dr. Robert Bethell. A Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Cross lawn Cemetery in Wynne, Ark. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath residence.
