Joel Benjamin Sorrells

JOEL BENJAMIN SORRELLS, age 38, of Gravel Ridge, Ark., after 16 years of health challenges passed from this mortal life to immortality on Dec. 5, 2013, at his home. Joel was born Sept. 29, 1975, Fort Smith. Joel leaves behind his wife of six years, Erica Yvonne Sorrells, to cherish his memory along with his son and daughter, Jace and Emily Kate; his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Gene Sorrells of Gravel Ridge; two sisters, Nilah and brother-in-law Rev. Eddie Gann of Columbia, S.C., and Carol Berry of Gravel Ridge; and his in-laws, whom he loved, Rev. and Mrs. Wesley Norris of Clinton, Ark. Joel was an accomplished musician, and very talented singer. He was actively involved in the music ministry of First Pentecostal Church of Gravel Ridge. He enjoyed the outdoors, family vacations, but most especially their weekly "Family Night". Joel B had such a charming wit, a personality beyond imagination, a smile that would light up a room, and a compassion that touched the lives of so many people. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec., 10, 2013 at First Pentecostal Church of Gravel Ridge, Ark. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at First Pentecostal Church of Gravel Ridge, Ark. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
