Rev. Carl S. Haley Jr.

Reverend CARL S. HALEY JR., 87, of Sherwood, Ark., passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. Rev. Haley was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in Greenway Rt, Ark., to Carl S. Haley Sr., and Viola May (Fuller) Haley. He is preceded in death by both parents; his son, Carl Rae Haley; and a sister, Dolores Brewer. Rev. Haley served in Italy during World War II for the U.S. Army. He was a General Baptist minister for 50 years and the owner of Growth Industries Advertising Company for over 30 years. Rev. Haley is survived by his wife of 66 years, Cleda Goodman Haley; one son, Neil Haley (Debbie) of Sherwood; one brother, Nelson Haley (Brenda) of Sherwood; and four grandchildren, Garrett Haley (Elizabeth), Gayle Russell (Nathan), Kyle Haley, and Eric Haley. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home (791-7400) in North Little Rock from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 16 in the Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. A brief graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Piggott, Ark. at the Piggott Cemetery.
