Shirley "Sam" (Mize) Marvin, 62, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away December 16, 2013, at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born October 31, 1951, in Conway, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Preston and Helan (Ramsey) Mize. She was valedictorian of the 1969 graduating class of Vilonia High School. She was a certified radiology technician; and supervised the Heart Cardiac Cath Lab at St. Vincent Infirmary, before becoming the Senior Clinical Specialist with Medtronic, and retired in 2010. She was an avid reader and quilter and had been a member of the Little Rock Rockette's quilting group. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed gardening. Shirley was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by many. Her loving daughter Brandi Griffin of Cabot, survives her, along with her grandchildren, Wade and Leah also of Cabot; her sisters, Letha Hendrickson of Conway; Ressie Keith (Hobert) of Van Buren; Fern Webb (Wayne) of Sherwood; JoEllen Wooley (Jerry) of Vilonia; her brothers, Howard Mize (Pat) of Conway; Charles Mize (Pat) of Beebe; Mike Mize (Kathy) of Van Buren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72216. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2013, at Belmont Chapel Church, Hwy 107 S, south of Vilonia, Arkansas.
