Opie Charles Pharr Sr., 90, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away silently in his sleep to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013. He was born March 20th, 1923, to the late Arthur J. He loved his family and was a very caring husband, father, and grandfather. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, were his most treasured times. He also enjoyed camping, photography, fishing, and hunting in his younger years. He graduated from Star City High School then went on to faithfully served our country in the United States Army during WW II. After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1949, later retiring from Equifax in Pine Bluff. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Jean Evans Pharr; three children: Chuck Pharr (Jean) of Springdale, Brenda Stallings (Davey) of Batesville, Bobby Pharr (Beverly) of Hot Springs; and three stepchildren: Karen Frey (Russ) of Cabot, Linda Bunch (Ken) of Little Rock, and the late Greg Garner of Pine Bluff; and many loving grandchildren. A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 21st, 2013, in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 700 North Second St., Cabot [(501) 843-5816] with visitation at 9 a.m. A gravesite memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery at Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he lived many years. He once stated that after he leaves this world and if by chance, you wish to remember him, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs it. If you do this, he stated he will live forever.
