Clarence Haltom

Clarence Haltom, 85, of Gurdon, Ark., died Monday Dec. 23, 2013 at Twin Rivers Health & Rehab. Clarence was born Feb. 5, 1928 to Clarence Elba Haltom and Georgia Lou Malone in Okolona, Ark. Clarence was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon, Ark., retired from Gurdon Lumber, International Paper Company and Cabe Land Company. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Martha of 50 years; two sisters, Jackie Stone and Joydell White. Clarence is survived by one son, Alan Haltom (Cindy) of Benton, Ark., and one daughter Darlene Gates (Doug) of Cabot, Ark.; two sisters, Belinda Bryant (Tommy) of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Joyce Morehead of Arkadelphia, Ark.; four grandchildren, Michael Haltom (Hayley) of Benton, Ark., Mandi Haltom (fiance, Derek Stokes) of Benton, Ark., David Gates (Jennie) of Cabot, Ark., Daniel Gates (Lauren) of Fayetteville, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Will Gates of Cabot, Ark., and Abigail Haltom of Benton, Ark.; special friend, Helen Sanford of Curtis, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other friends. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carl Ownbey, Bro. Larry Plyler and Rev. Richard Lancaster.
