Paula Cummins

Paula Cummins died of Alzheimer's on February 4, 2013. She was born February 8, 1948 in Little Rock. She was a lifelong educator, having earned a doctorate degree in Higher Education. She was honored with a membership in Phi Delta Kappa, among other recognitions for her work. After beginning as a classroom teacher, she helped start gifted education in Arkansas, developed educational programs at Heifer International, led the UALR summer gifted programs, and ended her career at the Arkansas Leadership Academy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul "Club" Griffith of McRae and Alva Neighbors Griffith Evans of Benton. Paula is survived by her husband of 42 years, Chester Regan Cummins of Little Rock; an aunt, Loreece Crook of Bryant and a niece, Morgan Griffith of Hot Springs. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church, 20900 Chanel Parkway Little Rock, Arkansas.
