Zula Crutchfield Bird

Zula May Crutchfield Bird of Prattsville, Arkansas was born June 28, 1921 near Prattsville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Allison and Lady May Kennedy Crutchfield. She was the oldest living member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, growing flowers and working in her yard. Mrs. Bird died Monday, February 4, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 91. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Felix Bird; sister, Dorothy Atchley; sister-in-law, Vera Faye Crutchfield; son-in-law, Dwight Lamb. Survivors include her sons, Robert Lee Bird and wife Joyce and Tommy Bird and wife Sheila, all of Sheridan; daughters, Katheryn Lamb of Leola and Ann Hayden and husband Bob of Little Rock; brothers, James Crutchfield and Jerry Crutchfield; sisters, Zelma Highsmith, Helen Lipscomb and Betty Tapley; grandchildren, Robbie and wife Sue Bird, Sylvia Bird Nelson and husband Gene, Casey Lamb and wife Shanna, Scottie Lamb and wife Melissa, Kelly Lamb, Mac Byrd and wife Sarah, Samantha Bird Gray and husband Tim, Matthew Bird, Summer Bird; great-grandchildren, Mason, Kayla, Kortni, Justus, Sydney, Katelyn, Daniel, Savannah, Cole, Aidan, Conner, and Emily. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville.
