Annie Louise Person

Annie "Louise" Person passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013, three months after the passing of her lifelong partner of 68 years, Edward "Tillman" Person. Louise was born July 7, 1929 to Napoleon and Elizabeth Evans (Lizzy Freemen) in Ashland, Louisiana. As a young wife and mother, Louise crisscrossed the country with kids in tow as Tillman (retired 1st Sergeant USMC 24 years - WWII/Korea) fulfilled his military commitment. Each time they moved, she continued her Veteran Administration employment by relocating to the local VA Hospital. Education was a high proirity in her family and she continued to pursue her secondary education in the evenings, eventually getting her BA from UALR in 1970. To her parents delight, Louise, along with nine of her ten siblings, completed college degrees. In 1986 she retired from the VA as Chief of the Fiscal Division, LR Branch. She enjoyed her immediate family as well as being a part of a very large family network that spent many vacations on Biloxi beach. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Tillman, her son, Jimmy and nine of eleven siblings. She is survived by her brother, Travis Evans, sons Edward Jr., James, and Donald, grandsons, Matthew and Zachary, granddaughters Hannah and Abbie, and brother-in-law, Donnie Person. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, LR, Saturday, February 16, from 2-3:30 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Saline County, P.O.
