Steve Smirl Sr.

Steve Smirl Sr. left his life on January 26, 2013 to begin his new pain free life with his family in heaven. He was born February 25, 1951 in Little Rock, Ark. and lived there until his job relocated him to Maryville, Tenn. in 1988. He later moved to Madisonville which is where he lived at the time of his death. He is preceded in death by: parents, A.T. and Lorene Smirl; son, Steve Smirl Jr.; brother-in-law, John Nash; brother-in-law, John Cook III; father-in-law, John Cook Jr.; nephew, Jerry Glover. He is survived by: wife and best friend of 36 years, Debbie Cook Smirl; daughter, Trina Cook; son, Brian Smirl, Sr. and wife Mandy; three grandchildren, Bailey Bryles, Brian Smirl Jr., and John-Kaden Arthur Smirl; sisters, Norma Nash, Sandra Black and husband Jimmy; brother, Ed Smirl and wife Estelene. He worked for Ashland Chemical from 1979 until his disability in 2004. He was district sales manager for Eastern TN and won numerous awards and commendations for his outstanding sales and troubleshooting ability. He worked with most of the boat manufacturers, spas, and marble shops in Tennessee. His hobbies were flying, being on the water with his son, and entertaining friends and clients. He was learning to play golf, but you had better watch out for flying clubs and wild balls. He was always full of life and ready to have a good time. His motto on the water was, "It's always 12:00 somewhere." A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 115 Stonehill Dr., Sherwood, Ark. 72120 on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Rev. Jim Black officiating.
